AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Aloha from North Texas: Hawaiian Waters Garland is a sun-soaked water park tucked into the 129-acre Cecil Winters Park, just off the George Bush Tollway and an easy drive from anywhere in the Dallas/Fort Worth metro. Formerly known as Hawaiian Falls and now part of the Hawaiian Waters chain, it packs a surprising amount into one afternoon—from a tower of heart-racing slides to a gentle wave pool built for families with little kids.↗↗↗
What makes it a local favorite is how it balances thrills and chill. Adrenaline seekers race down four-lane slides and plummet over a 40-foot edge, while everyone else floats the lazy river, boogie-boards the small waves or lounges in the shade at Kahuna Beach. Add free parking, free tubes and free lifejackets, and it's a low-stress day out that the whole family can share.↗↗
Crank Up the Adrenaline
The Aloha Tower is the park's thrill centerpiece. Climb the 65-foot tower and pick between the Waikiki Wipeout—a ride through a tunnel and over the edge—and the Flyin' Hawaiian, which whips you down twisting open waves. If you want speed with bragging rights, the Pineapple Express is a four-lane, head-first racing slide where you line up against friends to see who wins. The Pineapple Plunge goes for pure shock: a sudden launch and intense acceleration that the park pitches as a thrill-seeker's paradise.
