Antaimen Relic Site

Antai Gate is the sole surviving city gate from the Ming Dynasty walled town of Yizhou (义州卫) in Yi County, Liaoning. Built in 1426, this 600-year-old north gate is the last physical remnant of a once-mighty fortress city that anchored the ancient corridor of western Liaoning for over eight centuries. Restored and reopened to visitors in 2024 after a decade-long preservation campaign, the gate stands as a provincial cultural relic on North Street, facing the Daling River. For travelers exploring the Liao Dynasty treasures of Yi County—including the world-famous Fengguo Temple and Guangsheng Temple Pagoda—Antai Gate offers a tangible connection to the Ming military city that succeeded the earlier Khitan capital.
