Rodborough Hill
Rodborough Hill is a modest, rugged peak in Central Queensland's Leichhardt Range, rising to about 296 metres (971 ft) just outside the old gold-mining town of Mount Coolon. It is one of many rocky summits and waterholes dotting this remote stretch of outback, where the Suttor River has its headwaters and the land still feels wide open and thinly settled. There are no visitor facilities, marked tracks or viewpoints here — Rodborough Hill is best understood by travellers as part of the wild country around Mount Coolon rather than as a standalone attraction. For those on an outback road trip through the goldfields, it offers the appeal of the landscape itself: granite-strewn ridgelines, ephemeral creeks and the deep silence of the bush.
