Narbonne plage
Narbonne-Plage is the sun-soaked seaside face of the historic city of Narbonne, a family beach resort tucked at the foot of the rocky Massif de la Clape where the Aude department meets the Gulf of Lion. The drive down from town threads through vineyards, pine woods and fragrant garrigue before the horizon suddenly opens onto some 5 kilometres of fine golden sand — a wide, free and Blue-Flag beach that has held the same environmental standard since 1988. It is a place that pairs a classic Mediterranean summer of sunbathing and safe, shallow swimming with real natural space: a protected regional park, a working 600-berth marina, and wind that makes it a quiet hub for sailing, kayaking and other watersports.
