Presa tarango
Presa Tarango is a flood-control dam and regulation basin on the Tarango watercourse in Álvaro Obregón, western Mexico City, set inside the steep, tree-lined Barranca de Tarango. Rather than a classic sightseeing attraction, it is a working piece of water infrastructure that has been woven into a public ecological park—one of the city's greener, quieter corners and a genuine conservation-rehabilitation success story. Visitors come for canyon walks, viewpoints over the ravine, and a slice of wild-ish green close to the city, especially those already riding or strolling the linked Parque Las Águilas parks. The reservoir itself is seasonal: it fills after summer rains and can dry out entirely in other years, so the water level you find depends on the season.
