Skulptur - Kongeporten
Kongeporten – 'The King's Gate' – is a public sculpture standing at the mouth of Kongegade in the heart of old Nyborg, on the Danish island of Funen (Fyn). Installed in 2006 as a gift to the town, the work gives a contemporary landmark to a street whose very name ('King Street') recalls Nyborg's centuries as a royal stronghold and a meeting place of kings. It is best seen as part of a short walk through central Nyborg's historic lanes, past listed neoclassical façades, Vor Frue Kirke and the castle moat, where several modern sculptures share the pavements with medieval stone.
