Wat Sophanaram
Wat Sophanaram (วัดโสภณาราม) is a quiet Buddhist community temple in the village of Kut Hae, in Loeng Nok Tha district of Yasothon province, in Thailand's Isan northeast. A wat rat open to local laypeople rather than a royal or tourist monastery, it was first registered as a temple back in 1903, so it has sat at the heart of village religious life for more than a century. Today a small sangha of around five resident monks keeps the temple active under its abbot, Phra Khru Worawat Sophon. For visitors it offers what a working village wat does best: a calm setting to make merit, observe Isan monastic daily rhythms, and join the big communal festivals—especially the annual Kathin robe-offering—when the compound fills with villagers.
