AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Perguruan Siwa Murti Bali Pengcab Badung is the Badung-district branch of a Balinese Hindu spiritual organization and temple (pura) tucked into the village of Banjar Kurubaya in Lukluk, Mengwi, on the inland plain between Denpasar and central Bali. The name unpacks the place itself: "Perguruan" means a spiritual school or fellowship, "Siwa Murti" honors Shiva, and "Pengcab" (Pimpinan Cabang) marks it as a local branch of the island-wide Siwa Murti Bali movement.↗↗
This is first and foremost a working house of worship and healing community rather than a sightseeing temple. It is best known for what the movement calls "niskala" healing—non-medical, spiritual treatment offered alongside conventional care—and its doors, like many sites in this network, are effectively open around the clock for devotees and patients.↗↗
What it is
Perguruan Siwa Murti Bali is a Balinese Hindu "perguruan"—a spiritual school or fellowship built around devotion to Shiva and a tradition of ritual, meditation and healing. The movement has a central pasraman (hermitage) elsewhere on the island, with branch leadership spread across regencies; Pengcab Badung is its arm for the Badung area, set within the ordinary banjar (hamlet) life of Lukluk rather than on a grand ceremonial estate.
