AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Camping du Parc du Bourg de Pabos — now run as Camping NAPAGA — is a 4-star seaside campground on the Gaspé coast at Pabos Mills (Chandler), Quebec. What sets it apart is location: it sits directly on the Pabos Archaeological Site, part of the Espace NAPAGA open-air museum, at the mouth of two rivers where fine-sand beaches, calm water and big sunsets are the everyday backdrop.↗↗↗
With more than 200 sites, a full range of RV hookups, ready-to-camp glamping tents and trailers, and a beach path, an exhibition pavilion, a bistro and the archaeological trail all a few minutes' walk away, it works as both a comfortable base for exploring the Gaspé tip and a quiet destination in its own right. Visitors rate it 4.6 from over 800 reviews.↗↗↗
Where the campground sits
The campground is tucked back from Route 132 at the tip of the Pabos Mills peninsula, where the Grand Pabos bay meets the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The Mi'gmaq word "Pabok," meaning calm waters, is the root of the local name — and that still describes the feel: a peaceful spot by the sea at the mouth of two rivers, with sandy beaches and reliable sunsets.
