AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Roca del Pisó is a prominent natural rock formation at around 2,360 metres above sea level, tucked into the high mountain landscape of the Encamp parish in Andorra's eastern Pyrenees. Known locally as a climbing spot, this isolated rocky mass offers experienced climbers a natural wall in a dramatic alpine setting, while passing hikers in the Cortals d'Encamp area can take in its rugged silhouette against the sky.↗↗↗
Though it is not a formal tourist attraction with visitor facilities, Roca del Pisó rewards those who venture up the mountain road from Encamp: it sits at the edge of the Vall del Madriu-Perafita-Claror, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape, and in the orbit of the Funicamp cable car and the high-altitude trail network that links refuges, peaks, and traditional stone farmhouses (bordes).↗
A Natural Climbing Face in the High Pyrenees
The Roca del Pisó is a conspicuous, isolated rocky mass — the kind of landmark that gazetteers catalog as a hypsographic feature but that climbers recognise as a potential wall. In the Cortals d'Encamp area, this rock serves as an outdoor climbing spot, visible from a hiking loop that climbs toward the Funicamp base station and the summits beyond.
