Fire Barn Museum
The Fire Barn Museum on West Clay Avenue is a small, heartfelt tribute to Muskegon's firefighting heritage, housed in a faithful 1976 replica of the city's earliest fire station. Inside, a collection of antique and modern firefighting apparatus traces more than a century of local history, while a second-floor vignette recreates the sleeping quarters of the original volunteer crews. Run by the Lakeshore Museum Center, the Fire Barn is part of a walkable cluster of historic sites in downtown Muskegon and is best enjoyed alongside the nearby Victorian mansions and the Depression-era house museum. A single ticket lets you tour several of these buildings, making the Fire Barn a quick, family-friendly stop rather than a full-day destination.
