Buntal Esplanade
Buntal Esplanade is a scenic waterfront walkway perched above the mangroves of Kampung Buntal, a traditional Malay fishing village where the Sarawak River opens into the South China Sea. Built in 2015 as both a public recreation space and a bird-watching observation platform, the esplanade offers sweeping views of the tidal coastline, distant Mount Santubong, and the headlands of Bako National Park. It has become a quietly beloved escape for Kuching locals and a discovery for travelers willing to venture thirty kilometers from the city center.
