Al-Tawabeen Mosque

Al-Tawabeen Mosque (مسجد التوابين, meaning "Mosque of the Penitents") is a beloved neighborhood mosque in Jabal al-Qasr, the historic hilltop district of central Amman that overlooks the ancient Amman Citadel. With a 4.8-star rating from hundreds of reviews, it is recognized for its cleanliness, spaciousness, and welcoming atmosphere. Beyond its five daily prayers, the mosque plays a vital social role in the community as a station for funeral prayers, serving residents of Jabal al-Qasr who are then carried to cemeteries such as Sahab for burial — a daily rhythm that underscores its centrality to neighborhood life.
