SREE NANDEESWARALAYAM
Sree Nandeeshwaralayam is a Shiva temple set in the quiet farming country around Kathaluru and Vempalli, near Obuladevaracheruvu in southern Andhra Pradesh. Built as a fresh granite Sivalayam and consecrated to Lord Shiva as Nandeeshwara, it is a working house of worship rather than a crumbling monument — a place where local devotees come for daily darshan and where the craftsmanship of a new temple is still vivid enough to touch. What draws visitors here is the unusual combination of a rural Rayalaseema setting and an ambitious, recently raised stone complex. The temple has earned a high rating from the relatively few travellers and pilgrims who find it, mostly for the calm atmosphere, the imposing black-granite architecture and the unhurried, community feel of a small village shrine.
